while not Stanford Sports related another Palo Alto business from my time on The Farm is closing.

Sad, their chocolate-orange-almond cake was my wedding cake. My wife was at Stanford today, so she stopped by and bought one to bring home.

My wedding cake was PO's chocolate on chocolate. I am sorry to hear it's closing.

Same here, BC. Ours was from the 2004 vintage. The cake tasting and selection was the only bit of wedding prep that I actually enjoyed.
Thanks for the heads-up, 82lsju. My wife is going to be bummed, but I'm sure we'll be enjoying one (or two, or twelve) last slice(s) of heaven before it goes.
Perhaps we will savor it best right after a WIN in our home opener.

Life will not be as good without their double chocolate cake on birthdays and special occasions.
I'll buy one before the 31st, slice it up and freeze the slices so I can delay the end a bit longer.

You can always come to the Bovine or Brickmaiden Breads in Point Reyes.
