Hoping This WVB Workaround Works - FarmDad.01 - 09-13-2019

For the upcoming games at Penn State, you need a subscription to watch on BTN (Big Ten Network). But it seems BTN just got carriage on Fox Sports. The Fox site offers a free account, for which I signed up. We'll know if it works Friday afternoon...

Thanks for the heads up. I'm hoping my DISH account which gives me Fox Sports will let me view it.

The game is on BTN+, not BTN. And I think the free account on Fox Sports will allow you to stream only BTN games that are being televised on a Fox Sports channel, not all BTN games. But I hope it works!

The Fox Sports Internet site shows the game vs Penn State as an upcomng event, starting 18:00 Pacific.

PS: The game's tonight, not Saturday night...

My Comcast listings say the game is on regular BTN, channel 403 or 1313. Maybe they moved it?

I was wrong, it is on BTN. The match tomorrow vs. Minn. is on BTN+
So a good chance we will be able to see tonight's match on the Fox Sports app or site.

FYI the Penn State and Neb matches are on BTN via YouTubeTV. Live and can also be recorded.

Great win for the Card tonight, overcoming a sluggish start, dropping the first, to win in 4. Stanford weathered an epic 12-3 run in the second set after being up big to close out that set.

Fitzmorris after a quiet opening few games was on fire tonight. A job well done in a hostile environment in Happy Valley.

It is more heartening to see multiple players have good offensive output. No one player can carry their team for every game at this level. If we relied solely on Plummer, it might have turned out differently. It was tough to lose the first set yet again. While we've got an extraordinary set of players, the other top teams are nipping at their heels.

Neither The Patio or The Old Pro had any TVs showing the Stanford game (and The Old Pro was closed from 6:30-10). Thank you, KZSU.

It feels like we have 1 or 1.5 horrendous rotations (I think with Jenna right front), with only two hitters in front, not the greatest passing in the world, and really about only three in-system options, left side, slide, and Plummer out of the back row. Would've liked to have seen some more balls to our middles IN THE MIDDLE tonight, trying to hold the block a bit longer. Gates had the slide going, but Campbell only got 11 sets and hit zero for the match. Our middles only got 31 sets overall, while Plummer, Fitz, Kipp (who also appears to be gaining more trust), and McClure got 121.

Part of that - the passing tonight was all over the place. Full credit to Jenna for her work, but that was not a great serve receive match for Stanford. No aces against, but a whole heckuva lot of balls to Gray 15 feet off the net, on the sideline, or both.

But hey, that's the #4 team in the country in a notoriously difficult environment. A bit concerned about a let-down for Minny tomorrow, before the rematch in Lincoln next Wednesday (also on BigTen TV, not BigTen+, I think.)

KZSU claimed that the WVB would be on KZSU-2 on Saturday, but it is football.
I was out and tried to get it on my phone over the net.
I just got home and if the match gets to a 4th set, I'll call their engineering line.

Forget Friday the 13th. Saturday the 14th is looking pretty bleak.

For 3 straight sets, Stanford scored 25 points....... but we lost the 1st 2 & won the 3rd 25-23.
KZSU's engineering phone line went to voice mail. Sigh....

Anyone see the loss at Minnesota care to analyze what happened?  We won only 1 set, I see, but lost the first two sets 27-25.  It sounds very, very close.  But now on to even tougher competition at Nebraska?  Sounds like a brutal schedule.
