Raise your hand - BostonCard - 11-03-2019

If you had the 49ers pegged as the last undefeated team in the NFL. With the patriots going down to Baltimore tonight, that leaves just the 49ers.

By the way... Lamar Jackson’s line isn’t doing him justice. What a game.

I thought the Niners would win at least 10 games and make playoffs this season. It seemed the talent was good and the changes on defense (new scheme, new DL coach, Bosa, Ford, Alexander, plus a finally healthy Sherman) would lead to great improvement on defense, but I was a bit skeptical about Jimmy G.

G was sensational at end of 2017, but wasn’t very good even before his ACL tear in 2018. If I knew he would play as he has to this point, I probably go with 12-4. Never would have had Niners as last undefeated team in NFL. Even in their glory years the Niners rarely won even 8 games to start a season. They always had a stinker in the first half.

Yeah, but they're playing a second to last place schedule.

Yup, and the coming stretch is much harder.

(That said, my 6-7 prediction does not appear to be holding up.)

Seattle
Arizona
Green Bay
@ Baltimore
@ New Orleans
Atlanta
LA
@ Seattle

That's six games against teams with real playoff chances. Going 5-3 against that schedule would be impressive, maybe even 4-4 against it would. The Saints have it way easier than this.
