Also, Washington State is a 1:30 kickoff on the Pac-12 Nets. You guys will be happy to note that I will be running a OCR race at the time, so we might actually play well (if we don't then it means I have to be on a flight for us to do well).

Having your program's rivalry game on Pac-12 Network is a very loud statement about what outside observers think about it. What is this 2, 3 years in a row?

Just 2... 2017 was on Fox.

but 2016 was on P12N so 3 of the last 4 will have been on P12N, not sure about 2015 and earlier
ADD: 3 of the last 5, 2015 was on ESPN

Sure, but this is misleading. Both schools have stated a strong preference for holding BIG Game in the early afternoon, if possible.
In the Pac-12 the only way teams get to play in the early afternoon are when they are on the Pac-12 Nets.
So the conference and its TV partners, are giving Stanford and Cal fans exactly what they've been asking for, an early afternoon kick-off.
Now, in classic Stanford fashion, there are complaints about getting assigned to the Pac-12 Nets. Ugh!
FWIW - This is also the board that goes on and on about kickoffs at 7PM or later, especially for games in November. The Pac-12 routinely offers one kickoff at Noon/1/1:30 on the Pac-12 Nets, a game at 4:30/5 on FS1/ESPN and then 2 or even 3 games at 6:30/7/7:30OPM on Pac-12/FS1/ESPN.
Want early afternoon? Then what you will get is the Pac-12 Net. Over the last few seasons I kept saying be careful what you wish for....now the college football gods have granted "our" wish.
In Novembers, Pac-12 After Sunset becomes the territory for those with decent chances at getting top tier bowl invitations.
I will start our new appeal to the football gods....in 2020 I wish that Stanford Football plays every game in November with kick-offs AFTER 4PM.

Indeed. Fans are complaining that:
1) The Pac-12 television deal doesn't offer a competitive payout.
2) Our nationally televised games kick off too late.
3) Our early games are televised on the Pac-12 network.
4) Attendance at games is too low.
These seem like largely mutually incompatible propositions. You can increase the TV exposure, but at the expense of kick-off time convenience and consequently attendance. You can push towards better kick-off times, but at the expense of exposure and the TV payout. Etc.
For me, I plan to be at the game, so I don't actually care what network carries it (also, I get Pac-12 network at home).

Me too. I prefer an early afternoon kickoff, like it used to always be. We can't trun back the clock, but when we are fortunate enough to attend in person, this time is about perfect. Now, if we could only know that time in August, that would be perfect.

Big Game kick-off times
2019 1pm on P12N
2018 12 pm on P12N (rescheduled to 01 Dec due to smoke from the fires so it was not going to be on FOX or ESPN given the conferene championship games that day)
2017 5pm on FOX
2016 2:30pm on P12N
2015 7:30pm on ESPN
and I'm fine with the early kick-off for Big Game and since I'll be there I'm not bothered by it being on the P12N

Kickoff time and channel don't bother me much since I pretty much go to every Big Game whether it's at Stanford or Port-A-John Memorial Stadium. But when it's on TheNetworkNobodyGets it's a bit of a deal for those who can't be there in person especially because there are very few bars that have TheNetworkNobodyGets. That's in good part why it's TheNetworkNobodyGets

It's really not that hard to get the Pac-12 Network as long as you have a high enough speed internet connection or are have the ability to install a satellite dish where you live. Fans that can't be there in person have had long enough now to figure out how to get it on their tv.

The presence or absence of P12N does not drive a decision on provider - if it did then Comcast would have seen an explosion in subscribers when U-verse dropped it.
And you'd be able to see it in a lot more bars too.

I think Canalejas' point was that the existence of slingTV makes the choice of provider irrelevant except inasmuch as you need them to provide streaming quality internet connectivity.
As long as you have a fast enough internet and live in the United States (I don't know what sling can stream outside the US), you can get the Pac-12 network if you want it.

Ah.... 1:30 games, a real band, the old unis, Ed Macauly PA, Don Klein on mic, Murph talking about his pals, BobbbbbbbK with hair, #16 behind center, McKay bitching on the sidelines. Nothing like it.

Easy Ed was a friend, Hal of Fame docent, great guy.
In the 60's and into the 70's Don Klein announced track meets on the radio. Yes the good ole days.

The PAC 12 Network YouTube channel live streams the main content for free internationally. At least in my region... West Asia. Dont know about the other regions. When they initially started they tried a paid subscription model but it has been free for a while now.
Never seen more any stream top150 viewers for what its worth:) then again how many crazy folks are there who tune in for a midnight kickoff to watch Stanford vs Colorado

I'm in the United Arab Emirates and I browsed to the Pac 12 Network YouTube channel but don't see any live feeds. Is there a trick to seeing the link to the live feed? Is it always streaming, or only for specific contests?

I don't see where the SEC, B1G, or B12 have had to make that compromise.
