Tedford, Weaver, Laird - Phogge - 12-07-2019

This is for OF.

Tedford retiring at Fresno due to health problems. Accomplished a Harballs-like turnaround but has had heart problems for years. Tavita ought to pay him a visit, whatever you think of him he knows offense.

Evan Weaver one of four finalists for the Lott award. Why he wasn’t first team All PAC 12 is ridiculous.

Patrick Laird will start for the Dolphins tomorrow. An inspiration to Walkons and a believer in reading tutoring.

I HATE THE IPAD. OBVIOUSLY IT’S TEDFORD.

It would be interesting to see if Tedford would want a consultancy to come in and take a look at what Stanford does on offense and how it could be improved. Good for him, because there is no pressure, and can be done at his own speed. Good for the program to get a new pair of eyes that has some skills and has coached in the PAC-12. I don't know how well he and Shaw got along, but if Shaw can like Chip Kelly, anything is possible. The results may lead nowhere, but they also may help. Worth looking into.

Tedford was fired at Cal because  of their lack of offensive prowess. He went from being considered a great play caller, offensive mind to being a poor offensive coach. Same guy. But of course the Jesse‘s and the Joes and the Aaron’s changed over time.

RE: lex24 - Giants - 12-07-2019

Actually, he was fired because the academic performance of the team had fallen to a dangerously low level.  In essence, he lost control of the team through very poor recruiting decisions.  Of course, this loss of control also had a decidedly negative impact on the on-field performance both offensively and defensively.
