Men’s hoops mention in ESPN article - AlbanyCardinal - 12-26-2019

I don’t have any delusions this squad can make the final four, but it’s nice to see the program getting some attention (and certainly agree Stanford is good enough to surprise some good teams out there).

Making the tournament seems like a possibly realistic goal -- but it's interesting that Stanford's one loss so far (by one point) is to a team mentioned in this article as possibly going to the Final Four. Maybe they're better than any of us dared hope at the beginning of the season.

we are very thin; any injuries to the starters will have a marked effect.

Don't think we have played many tournament-quality teams so far. The Kansas game will be a good barometer of where this team is. A win would be brobdingnagian, a close loss can keep us dreaming, a blowout loss could wake us up to a reality that we may be a bubble team at best.

Results are very good so far, but there's not too much margin for error... Injuries or bad losses can derail our tourney train.

I generally agree, but win or lose on Sunday, I see this team upsetting a few ranked P12 foes, assuming our starters stay healthy.

Dick Vitale is calling the game for ABC.  Some of you might recall the last time Dick called a game at Maples:

Suggests Terry as a potential 1st rounder.

Perhaps he means first rounder in 2022. ?

Terry not big/strong enough to be an NBA prospect yet - but I do think he can develop into one.

Assuming this team does indeed make the postseason in some capacity (hopefully MM but NIT certainly looks like a floor from what we’ve seen), the fact that our entire 8-9 man rotation returns next year and we have some real potential early-impact freshmen is exciting. Agree that the team isn’t very deep now, but it will be.
