Well unfortunately, thanks to our weak non-conference schedule,
this is a critical game re our NCAA chances. I don't like our chances
of making the tourney, in an up-and-down Pac-12, if our best
non-conference win is Oklahoma.

Since Montgomery left, Stanford has sucked in the majority of its games in every season. This year is the exception. Obviously, Stanford has a long ways to go before it can compete against the highest level of college basketball. But, I do believe Haase has us headed in the right direction.
On a related note, what I would give for a studly big man. Someone who could defend an Azabuke one-on-one. And, also be a threat to score down low on his own. Having such a guy would really make the team function much better overall. Next year we bring in a couple of very good shooters and a talented power forward prospect. But, we'll still be missing a true big man. We could also use a little more athleticism across the board.

Looked a lot like a #10 seed playing a very strong #2 seed.
If Stanford can lose like that on the first Sunday of the tournament I will be happy.

They need a true star who can take over a game against a powerful opponent. Terry is a nice player but he isn’t the guy. And James Keefe is far from ready, if ever.

I'll give Keefe a pass. He's a freshman, not even on scholarship and has been a role player all year. And, I disagree on Terry. He's also a freshman but has a ton of a talent. I think in a year from now, he may very well be taking games over. The real disappointment to me is Oscar da Silva. Sure, he put up some points but, as was the case all of last year, was lackadaisical - he just doesn't have the killer instinct to take over games. Which, is a shame, considering he's our leading scorer this year and a junior. Truthfully, though, Kansas seemed to have more talent at every position, and a good bench.

Went to the game today with wife & older son. None of us was disappointed. Stanford was wholly overmatched by one of the top teams in the country. They could have made a game of it if they'd been able to hit the side of a barn from outside, and if da Silva had made more FGs than turnovers.
The defense was great for about 30-35 mins but then wilted due to depth. Kansas has it, Stanford doesn't.
This is easily a 20-win Stanford team, maybe 23-25. For the first time in a decade (or more), I'm genuinely interested in Stanford MBB.
Also keep in mind that every player who got minutes today has at least one more year of eligibility. I don't see anyone on this roster leaving early for the NBA, so next season could be genuinely exciting.

Keefe is on scholarship. Originally walk on for a year then people left. So On scholarship from Day 1

I am more worried about making the tournament. We have work to do in conference
play if we are going to make up for a weak non-conference resume. I think we need
a minimum of 11 wins in conference to make the dance.
