Ah we know for sure why he returned. He’s running the 400 for Stanford at Albuquerque. He’s not on the roster yet

One of my best childhood memories of Santa Fe was sopapillas with honey butter.

One of my lasting career memories was while with the traveling press on the McGovern campaign following him into a Mexican restaurant on the square in Albuquerque. A few locals were set up for the press conference and the network crews immediately headed for a table loaded with sopapillas and Mexican coffee. Kirby Jones tried to herd us back but few shot the meaningless NC. A metaphor for a losing campaign.
