New WR offer

There's always a "University of Stanford"

Anyone know whether ‘22 LB recruit Lander Barton is related to Sean Barton?  I see that Lander comes from an athletic family, but no mention of Sean here: https://archive.sltrib.com/article.php?id=2863568&itype=CMSID.

RE: Class of 2022 - VB Card - 02-08-2021

Made the top 5 for 3 star CB Akim Sledge. Sledge is from Virginia and Stanford is the only west coast school in his final list.

No, or at least not directly.

Both older brothers, Jackson and Cody, are in the NFL. Dad (FB & baseball), mom (VB), both brothers, and older sister (current VB senior) all play(ed) for the Utes.

It's incredibly common, isn't it?  I always assume it's a bad sign, but some of them must end up enrolling.  One of these days, a kid should go straight over-the-top with his commitment announcement and say something like, "I've decided to spend the next 3 to 4 years with the University of Stanford Cardinals!  (followed by, "Just kidding, I'm just messing with you all!")

Of course, this is coming from the guy whose alma mater often prompts the response, "oh, Cal Poly Pomona?"

6-6 DE OLB from Missouri

RE: Class of 2022 - SamuelMcF - 02-11-2021

Love the Wesolak offer.

Also, DT target Alex VanSumeren decommitted from Michigan today, and we're in hot pursuit. It seems a significant portion of our earlier targets who have already committed super duper early (he committed as a freshman!) tend to decommit later once all the options hit the table. See earlier discussion on ILB Tuihalamaka. S Bryce Anderson decommitted from LSU recently too, but I don't think we're in it for him.

More front seven offers!

Desperate times...

I am really hoping that the staff is taking the lesson to heart.  You can't head into a season with barely a two-deep among the front seven and several "gap years".  Our defense falling to the bottom quartile of FBS teams should be a wake-up call that we need to continuously replenish the pipeline and not take every other year off.

The good news is that we can sell early playing time.

And he's committed to Mississippi State for baseball.

Stanford out on one of its 3 QB offers for the class. Looks like the staff is prioritizing MJ Morris.

RE: Class of 2022 - Papa John - 02-16-2021

Stanford is in the final 13 (!) for 4-star TE Delp, but note that he's looking to enroll early, at least according to 247sports:

Rivals has Sam Roush enrolled in Lipscomb Academy in Nashville. He didn’t make their Top 250.

Top 5 for the 4 star safety from Sierra Canyon.

RE: Class of 2022 - VB Card - 02-21-2021

Lost out on two recruits today: 4 star TE Jack Pedersen (UCLA) and 4 star RB Jadarian Price (Notre Dame)...

Glad we already have a recruit committed for each position but the staff was still after both.
This quote from Price is telling:
"Stanford was one of my top schools at one point. That was a serious one for me. Obviously the academics at Stanford are up there and it's ranked toward the top across the country. But Notre Dame, its academics and football,” said Price. “I will have the chance to make it to the NFL, meet people all around the world, and get one of the best degrees in the world. It's both for me. It doesn't get any better than that when looking at football and academics."

Definitely unfortunate that we are now being looked at as an excellent academic school, but if you want top drawer football you go somewhere else.
