I really wish we would just play San Jose State every year.

Same.  I long for those days.

At this trying time looking back is not all that bad. The Chron is doing an historical series and today’s short article is about the return of the USF team from its first NCAA title won in Kansas City in 1955. Poised on the stair exit from an old TWA Constellation is Bill Russell holding what is probably the game ball, forward Jerry Mullen holding the trophy and KC Jones leading them off the plane just as he led them on the court. I saw them play many games at the old Kezar Pavilion (still hosting AAA games!) with its springy floor. Got to play on that floor later. Magical time in the City.

I long for the days of college sports being played.
