Several Senators have proposed a rule change but so far, Mitch has adamantly been against it.

I guess we are about to find out which Senators are not fond of exercise. Those that visited the gym today should be in quarantine at this point.
Many of the Senators are old and may not survive the month of April if they are exposed this weekend.

Unless he had access to a 45 minute test, seems irresponsible for Paul to be going to the gym/pool with a pending test.

Props to the other congressmen that self quarantined after even a whiff of exposure.

There is a debate in the US government about escalating military action against Iran now to exploit their current weakness due to the disease ravaging the country and their government.

I was incredibly troubled by this because it would set a terrible precedent.

I hope America’s enemies aren’t as reckless as some in our current administration. With a very old president and vice president, both of whom have been near the infected, and many aged people in senior positions of leadership, we cannot have a world where countries escalate militarily to exploit the situation

He didn't just use the gym. He used the gym WHILE HE WAS WAITING FOR HIS F***ING COVID19 TEST RESULTS. Ignoring the politics, that's an incredibly selfish thing for any human being to do. F*** him.

How about just letting the virus do its damage in Iran and then see how the people rise up to install new leadership? The rest of the world would condemn the U.S. like never before if this happens. And I don't think American citizens will want us distracted with a war of choice while fighting a war against a virus pandemic stripping the country's resources. IOW, the idea is pure idiocy.

So this is a discussion that was held to determine how we would respond to a drone attack by Iran that killed two American servicemen, right? I would hope they are discussing all options and the tactics and ramifications of each.

“a tense debate erupted among the president and his top advisers on a far different subject: whether the United States should escalate military action against Iran”

I would not categorize this as a routine “considering all options.“

Additionally, I would not characterize the NYTimes as “rumors”.

Reporter: "Should I say 'pushed back' or 'options were debated'?"
Editor: "Do you ever want to advance your career? How many clicks will those get?"

There are some inflammatory words that the NYT used that are seemingly not direct quotes.
I presume the editor or reporter chose them for a reason.
I don't think any of us will ever know whether that was for commercial or political or other reasons.
