I relived all three for this graduating class over the weekend

RE: Re-live it: 2019 WVB National championship - Canalejas - 04-07-2020

I'm so glad I got to watch this team play so many matches.

Incidentally, I've kept the following picture as the sidebar pic over on r/StanfordCardinal ever since win over the Badgers.

I figured I'd change it again when the next Stanford championship arrived or at least when another team was getting close.  The 2019 WVB champs are going to be up for a long time if I don't change my approach.

Makes me sad all over again that wonderful class is moving on.  Time to reload!

RE: Re-live it: 2019 WVB National championship - BobK - 04-07-2020

We reloaded. 5 member class will be Sophs plus 3 top Frosh coming in.

Plus appears two top recruits in the 2021 class

And you would want to change your approach because... ???

Not really a problem.  They deserve to be up for a long time   :-)

I'm trying to remember what image I used when water polo and soccer won, but either way it was short-lived.

I was looking forward to swimming getting a turn on the sidebar.  The NCAA meet last year gave us a some great images, including the one below taken as the team reacts to Brooke Forde swimming a bonus 50.

But in the absence of more sports, I'm happy to leave WVB's picture up.  They're amazing.

I recorded it, and when I watch I'm going to keep count on how many out-of-system sets that Plummer scored on. She had a truly amazing match, maybe her peak out-of-system performance? I remember the poor Wisconsin coach being totally nonplused in a mid-match interview: his team was winning the serve/receive battle handily but still losing the sets because of Plummer's out-of-system hits.

I'm looking forward to the next season (if there is one), and the team next year will be good, and fun to watch as they develop. But it won't be the same: Plummer, Hentz, Fitzmorris, and Grey were either the best player in college at their position, or tied for the best--and then we had the short-term services of Gates who had an incredible NCAA tournament, not making a single hitting error until late in the championship match IIRC. Also, we have to hope our setter recovers from her injury by the fall.
