Quote:In another somewhat surprising selection to open day three of the 2020 NFL Draft, Seattle selected Stanford tight end Colby Parkinson with the 133rd overall pick.

Fan reaction seems mixed, mostly because they have a few TEs on the roster already.

I guarantee you Seahawks fans wanted UW TE Hunter Bryant, still available late in 6th round, over Parkinson.

I'm sure they did, but Bryant is an awkward prospect. A "TE" who is really more like a husky slot receiver. 6'2" 240, too short to be a TE and not super fast. Can't block very well. He's a pretty good route runner though, and did well vs. smaller college nickel/CBs and slower college LBs as a pure receiver but that was pretty much it. Likely UDFA for a reason with 6 draft picks left.

Funnily enough, he had by far his worst game of the season against Stanford. 1 catch for 8 yards.

There are always "surprising" UDFAs every season. Quenton Meeks was a good example; many had him mocked in the 3rd-4th round.
