Stanford Football has just posted on twitter the top 10 wins of the David Shaw era. No surprises really. 4 games from the magical 2012 season, 3 from the magical 2015 season and one each from 2011, 2013 and 2018. For those keeping track, only one game from the past four seasons.
1 - Rose Bowl vs. Iowa
2 - Rose Bowl vs Wisconsin
3 - triple OT vs. USC 2011
4 - P12 championship game vs. USC 2015
5 - Oregon 2012
6 - Notre Dame 2015
7 - USC 2012
8 - Oregon 2018
9 - P12 championship game vs. UCLA 2012

Wow, I just watched the highlights of all 10 games in the Twitter thread. That was awesome!
I managed to attend 9 of those 10 games in person (all but Oregon 2012). That thread brought back a whole bunch of great memories.

The underrated game from the Shaw Era that I would highlight is Colorado 2012. Mid-game, Kevin Hogan finally took over as QB from Josh Nunes. You could feel the energy surging through the visitor's section at Folsom Field as every weapon in the offense clicked into place. I think Hogan led Stanford on 5 consecutive scoring drives en route to a 48-0 shellacking. That game started the momentum that led Stanford to 4 consecutive victories over ranked P12 teams, then a Rose Bowl win.

Though the 2015 regular season game against USC is not on the list, I thought that was the key game that propelled Stanford through the 2015 season. The two previous games against Northwestern and UCF reminded me of the previous season. Kevin Hogan really game through in that game, especially in the 2nd half paying on a sprained ankle. Of course Hogan would go on to have a number of outstanding games that season.

You know the coach is destined for the Stanford Hall of Fame when winning the Pac-12 CG at ASU in 2013 is NOT even on the list.
Remember that 8 of the Pac-12 schools don't even have a single Pac-12 CG win in their history, and 3 have not even participated in a Pac-12 CG.
Sure would like to get a top 10 worthy win in the 2020 season, but suspect COVID may force us to wait until 2021.
