One disagreement with the article:

I wouldn’t call someone falling out of a window “surreptitious.”

Defenestration is an old standby to Russian security services. Haven't used it much lately, probably some kind of nostalgia tour. It often looks like suicide, but if the windows are closed behind the victim, maybe it isn't.
