So all that good news about the increase in testing may be misleading, since antibody tests aren't what counts for test-trace-isolate.

According to it, the CDC is reporting ~170K fewer tests in California than California reports, ~160K fewer than Texas,
~220K more than Florida reports, ~160K more than Massachusetts reports.
Although California wasn't mentioned in the Atlantic article, Texas was:
Quote:The Texas Observer first reported last week that the state was lumping its viral and antibody results together. On Tuesday, Governor Greg Abbott denied that the state was blending the results, but the Dallas Observer reports that it is still doing so.
As of the morning of May 21, California is reporting 1.38M tests without saying anything about the kind of tests. The CDC is reporting 1.1M tests in California. When California speaks of cases, it appears to be "confirmed cases". Santa Clara county (5% of the population of the state, 3.9% of the tests) is reporting 54K tests, which is consistent with Dr. Maldonado reporting on Sunday that Stanford had done more than 50K tests, and Dr. Cody saying that Stanford had done the majority of tests.
L.A. County (minus Pasadena and Long Beach) reports 359K tests (no indication of the type of test) (roughly 9.4M population, 9.4/39.5 = 24% of CA population; 26% of reported tests). L.A. indicates the results only track electronic reporting of lab results but not all labs are reporting electronically.

Hopefully the U.S. wins an award for its towering incompetence managing this pandemic. I mean there has to be some sort of booby prize for the country that does the worst job of all developed countries, right?
