One of my greatest frustrations over the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is the cavalier, whistling past the graveyard going on with it. People claim not everyone gets sick and not that many people die. This may be true, but we also have reason to believe that even the most apparently mild infections can cause long term health issues. We are way past Covid-19 being just a flu bug, yet too many people continue to blithely dismiss it as not that big of a deal. Just the fact we have some evidence of long-term impact - that doesn't come with the flu - should make us take this thing way more seriously than any flu.
