17 days from now, the 33 million+ unemployed Americans will lose their $600/month COVID stimulus stipend.
"Democrats want to extend the program, called Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation. Republicans and the Trump administration have called for capping the amount of money jobless Americans can receive, seeing it as a disincentive to return to work."

This is just sour grapes from Gundlach because bonds are not good investments.

I think eliminating the match between tax collections and payments makes as much sense as defunding police departments.

This could well be the case. It doesn't change the point he makes, does it?
It's just a total bunch of rubbish that the Fed can print money without limit. That's - theoretically - why we pay taxes.

The Fed is saying that the job is mostly up to fiscal and health policy now.
President of Dallas Fed Kaplan just said that 100% mask wearing would significantly help GDP. He also said that extension of unemployment benefits (but restructured) is essential.

If Trump wanted to stay true to his nature, he could implement just such an extension in a modified form. Beginning on August 1, the amount would be 86% of the income of the recipient's most recent regular employment position, and it would be called the Federal Unemployment Compensation Kickstarter.
