Ohio Governor DeWine made this announcement Tuesday.
Then, this morning, in advance of his planned meeting with Trump on his trip to Ohio, the governor announced that he had tested positive.

He tested positive preumably on the rapid Abbot test. Not the most accurate. I wonder if they will publicize the RTPCR confirmatory one.

Follow up PCR test for Devine was indeed negative. White House may want to rethink their reliance on that test.

I remain perplexed by the testing issues. I know somebody who had a test done and got the results back. 17 days later. That’s helpful. But then he already knew he was negative which of course turned out to be the case. But still. If you can develop a pregnancy test that’s immediate and, as I understand it, relatively accurate, why can’t a test be developed that gives a similar immediate read, with the understanding that it may be slightly less accurate than the lab. Wouldn’t that be somewhat helpful
What’s going on in California right now in regards to testing is a complete shit show. ( And I’m singling out Ca simply cause I’m a Californian, I suspect it’s the same in most if not all states). And again I will fully admit it I just don’t get it.

Did DeVine fix the antigen test to avoid meeting with Trump? He may not have been looking forward to meeting him, unlike the small band of supporters/workers who were allowed on the tarmac to listen to Trump's short Cleveland speech. The crowd was required to be outside and limited to about 100-200, but were not required to wear masks or socially distance.

Well, a false positive is not a concern if you want to shield the President from someone who might have COVID-19. A false negative is the concern.

Not all tests in California have long delays, just the ones we hear about. I have two friends who attended an out of state wedding and were tested on return. Their test were back in two days (negative).
