To my way of thinking, Larry Scott is not only bad for the conference in the short term but even worse in the long term. May his imminent demise be of one the positive legacies of the pandemic, which has already ripped the lid off the pandora's box of college football.

Did anyone read the OregonLive articles on the Pac-12 conference? Larry Scott is a parasite that should have been given the boot a long time ago.

Reddit had a field day with those. (There is a massive CFB community on Reddit, and FIRE LARRY SCOTT is an extremely popular meme.)

I recall some discussion on here as well when they were first published. Eye-opening.

Larry Scott is not qualified to lead negotiations with players seeking a seat at the bargaining table. His experience is negotiating for people to pay him money, not the other way around.

Based upon this article and statements made by Scott, it is time for Scott to go, and not because of his financial management performance.

I had read the letters from the players and from Scott on Friday along with a few articles that mirror the NYT article about Scott being generally dismissive of most of the players' concerns. Scott's letter was professional but was pretty clearly meant to send the players and their concerns into the PAC 12 bureaucracy to serve as cover for taking no important steps. Calling the players' statements "PR stunts" is a really bad look. Particularly concerning is the Scott's unwillingness to enforce a uniform testing protocol for all schools. Even if it isn't as frequent at the players' demands, there should be a standard across the conference. The conference should be able to afford the same level of testing as the pro leagues and, if they can't, they probably shouldn't be playing anyway.

Also, players who chose to opt out of playing this year are doing so for health reasons. Why should they be treated any differently than any other injured player? Having them clear out their lockers and lose access to team trainers and facilities is clearly punishing them for making a choice about their health that the NCAA and PAC 12 have said they can make without penalizing their scholarship status.

I've already written to Muir, Tessier-Lavigne, and Scott expressing my dissatisfaction with Scott's response to the issues raised by the players.
