This story is just stomach-turning. The HHS apparently stole $300 million from the CDC's budget to run a PR campaign designed to gaslight the American people about how awesome a job the Federal Government has done managing the Covid-19 pandemic. And the CDC has no say, even though Congress appropriated the money to CDC. How the hell is this even legally possible?

It was a grift from the beginning, and even in the midst of a deadly pandemic that has killed 200k+, it is still a grift. Pretty sad that the fascist tilt our government is taking isn't even in service to some twisted ideology, it's just the sideshow to distract from the looting. USA in 2020 sucks ass!

Our government should have done a lot more to help people who lost their jobs. Trump and McConnell have sat on their asses while the D's passed a bill months ago.

That 300 million would be much better in the pockets of out of work Americans, than Trump's cronies and Dennis Quaid. Though I suppose he's been out of work for a while himself.

I say this is naked propaganda in the worst sense of the word. A chief executive spending tax money to push self-serving lies to the public. Isn't this another in the hundreds of obvious crimes this loathsome man and his henchmen have committed?

True. But the old prohibition set a tone that influenced interpretation in other areas. There really isn't an outright prohibition against propaganda in other areas that I am aware of. You can sometimes get there through analysis of the purpose of an appropriation. However, any propagandist can easily stretch beyond recognition anything related to public education.

So we now can prosecute a very strong case that the POTUS is killing people to make money because he's compromised by his own debt. There are no coincidences. Hopefully there is a criminal prosecution to hold all these traitors accountable.
