Works for me. If Stanford can adjust to this crowd-free thing before Oregon then it could be a fun mini-season.
Couldn’t ask for anything better than getting Colorado as the crossover opponent.

I think we’re quite used to crowd free environments...
Arizona might have been a slightly better crossover opponent since we beat them last year and they had a lot of attrition, but definitely can’t complain about Colorado in week 2 while breaking in a new coach and not able to have a full preseason camp.

SJs is moving practice to Humbolt county. Can stanford and others have a real practice soon? Big question

Arizona has QB Gunnell who may become the greatest passer in school history. Avoids a game with Stanford’s thin secondary.

I wish we would have scrapped the North-South alignment this year. I'd rather be playing the LA schools.

Given the fact that pass defense does not appear to be our strong suit this year, I can't say I am devastated that we are not facing Kedon Slovis and his excellent U$C receiving corps.

Stanford gets to play perhaps the toughest opponent Oregon in week 1 with the team as healthy as it will be all season.
Big Game on the day after Thanksgiving.

Got to be helpful that we will be facing the Ducks when they will have new QB in his first starting role.
Then again, we faced true freshman QB's in Games 2 and 3 last year and got torched, so maybe it won't make a big difference.

It’s a bunch of sprinters against a bunch of plodders. Don’t think the Ducks will drop the baton.

Sure, but now at least we have a chance to have a winning record.

I'd be feeling pretty good about being USC or Cal right now.

I believe Oregon had 3-4 DBs opt out

Pretty common for the Ducks to have more team speed than we do.
Yet we are 5-5 against them in the last ten games (3-2 in Eugene).
So I haven't given up quite yet.

three DB, one OL, we'll see if any change their mind
Quote:Oregon defensive back Jevon Holland, a potential first-round NFL draft pick, has opted out of the 2020 season, he announced Saturday.
...
He is the third to opt out from Oregon's secondary, joining cornerbacks Deommodore Lenoir and Thomas Graham Jr., both of whom made their decisions earlier this month when it appeared the Pac-12 would not hold a fall season. The Ducks will also be without left tackle and reigning Outland Trophy winner Penei Sewell

All of the games in the first 6 weeks will be on ESPN or Fox networks. No Pac-12 Network.
Eight Friday games. How many 9 am games?

To be fair, it matters less this year. With nobody in the stands anyways, you don't have to worry about fans making it to games after work. And with classes happening via zoom, players can "go to class" remotely from their hotel and then go the game.

Good points. My shame comment was more focused on forcing the kids to have one less day to recover before the next game in the midst of a pandemic, zoom college, an uprising, and a presidential election that will likely be accompanied by political violence and maybe even a coup. Seems like one more unnecessary burden on college students.
