This Trevor Lawrence kid is pretty good - OutsiderFan - 10-17-2020

Have a half, Trevor...

22-27, 391 and 5 TDs. In the FIRST HALF at Georgia Tech today.  And Clemson leftest 52-7.

Just astonishing these things could actually happen.

But he's also averaging an interception per game. Not including the past year.

He's overrated.

Um, that was his first INT since Oct ‘19.  366 passes. Fell just short of ACC record.  Held by  Russell Wilson (379).

Passing stats have essentially become meaningless.  But I completely agree that he’s special.  He has it all, size, arm strength, accuracy and mobility.  On their first TD drive he made three tremendous throws in a row.  First a deep out which he puts on a rope.  Second a quick slant against the blitz hits guy in dead stride.  Third is a TD pass thrown to perfect spot up just a bit with a lot on it as defender had back turned. Love watching him.  He’s like Mahommes.

Turns out the #1 overall recruit in the entire class, a perfect bonafide 1.000 5* rating, QB might be good at football.

Yeah, that was meant to be a joke, He's averaging an interception per game, if you ignore than prior twelve months.

I thought that might have been what you were saying.  I’m a little slow....

I think I read that he was the highest rated QB out of HS since Elway.  Course, I may be making that up......

Lawrence 4.0 gpa and honors classes in HS
Justin Fields was #2 in that class -- 3.9 gpa and 1300 SAT
we liked West with McKee coming in 2 years later after his mission

Did Stanford have a chance to get either Lawrence or Fields?

Looks likeLawrence will be playing in Atlanta or New York. I still like the N Dakota kid for Shanahan.

West balled out at our summer camp as a pre-sophomore and we offered on the spot. I don't think the other 2 camped with us.

I’m thinking if the Jets get Lawrence, the Niners can get Darnold fairly cheap.  He’s been disappointing.  But he’s talented.

This is exactly what I have been thinking since Week 3. The Niners can pick up Darnold for a 3rd or 4th round pick. I am 100% convinced he will flourish in Shanahan's system. Maybe Lynch can get the Jets to pay some of Darnold's salary. Even if Garoppolo rights himself this season, Darnold would be a better #2 than Mullens or Beathard.
