OT Frank Gore -

Playing for the awful Jets he had eleven carries for sixty yards. As the trading deadline looms and the Niners without Mostert, Coleman and now Wilson a low draft choice should be able to bring him back to where he started.

Not a bad idea. Wonder if he fits in this offense, however.

The evidence suggests anybody with any ability to play RB can be plugged into the Shanahan offense and do just fine. The Niners have no need to trade for a RB as long as Shanahan and his RB coach Bobby Turner are on the case.

Really OF? Wilson is going on IR. What if McKinnon and Hasty go down in the first quarter Sunday? I guess you can plug Samuel in as an outside threat but wait... Samuel is out Sunday. Then you can put Yousecheck at tailback but who can block for him. Kittle could but how do you replace Kittle with Reed on IR?
Go get Gore if you can. He caught a lot of passes Lex and he has the guts of the Atomic Blond. Plus he should end his career in Santa Clara.

Early in his career, yes. Probably could get him for a very late pick - or even just cash. Be a low risk move that could pay some dividends. What’s Marshawn up to? (Kidding)

Don't see Frank Gore fitting in Shanahan's outside zone scheme. McKinnon and Hasty will be fine. And Tevin Coleman will be back soon.

What are Toby and Stepfan doing? ;)

McKinnon does not fit into the scheme. He is a third down back with a bad knee. Hardly played last week. And do you have an inside source on Coleman? I heard last week that it will be awhile.

Kind of contradicts your earlier post that any running back could fit in to Shanahan's offense, doesn't it.

I don't know if Gore is the right guy. But I understood Shanahan's RB preference to be that of overwhelming speed. That's why he got McKinnon, Mostert, et al. Wilson is the only one who doesn't have overwhelming speed. Shanahan wants his RB's to hit the gap and hit it hard. I don't know that Gore fits Shanahan's preferences, but Gore is a yards-after-touch guy in the same way that Kittle, Samuel and Aiyuk are.

McKinnon doesn't have the burst after two ACL's. He still is a solid pass catcher. Gore would give them a tough inside runner to complement Hasty. According to reports it seems like Coleman is going to practice Friday and may play Sunday.
If they can sign a has been like Ziggy Ansah they certainly could take a chance on Frank who still is producing albeit for the worst team in the NFL.
