Cal looked awful.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Cal failed to convert on fourth and short and UCLA got the ball on their own 22. They proceeded to run 8 consecutive rushing plays without a pass, ending in a 31 yard touchdown run.
I miss when we could do that.

We probably could have done that if we played Cal this morning, who hasn't played a game, instead of Colo yesterday.

Thompson throws some awful passes but he is a dual threat with speed. UCLA looks like a six furlong team, Stanford like a 26 mile 385 yard slug. Kelley is getting the athletes again so watch out Pac 12.

Thompson was not recruited by Kelly, but if Kelly can get the type of players he needs for his system the Pac 12 South could dominate the conference with only the Ducks being strong enough to compete. If Kelly can have a run at UCLA similar to that he had with the Ducks USC may go Division 69.

So given the difference, UCLA must have destroyed Colorado...

Interesting suggestion. Maybe an oblique reference to a lot of opinion on this board re David Shaw? Wilcox has really picked Cal up. He's a good coach as a leader and he also knows how to win; but whether he is or not, no football coach should get fired for W-L results in this bizarre season. IMO.
I'm worried about the Big Game.

Truly doubt that will happen. Nothing new, anymore, about what Kelly does. Colorado put 48 on UCLA. Led 35-7.

Didn't see a second of the game or read anything about it . . . until just now when checking the box score.
Awful may be generous. Cal had 176 total yards of offense. That is mind-blowingly horrific - even worse than all the poor performances I complain about here with regard to Stanford's O output. So much for this being Cal's year.
Did they do any football activities/practices for the last 2 weeks?

What I'm guessing is that it is a take off on the notion some fans seem to have that a coach is only as good as his last game.
Wilcox does get a lot of hype. I'll start buying into it when he does something like win the conference.

Cal is the reason this season shouldn’t exist. Had one positive test that required whole DL to be quarantined. Then, on top of that, they couldn’t have a full team practice on defense. Not only did this hurt the defense, it also hurt the offense because it had no ability to practice against a full defense. Making things more difficult, they were breaking in a new offense with a new OC and only had 4 Spring practices.
Stanford also screwed by Mills being wrongly held out of a game and a full week of practice.
Utah has missed two games, ASU now has two games canceled.
The whole PAC-12 “season” is a farce, if not a pox.

The college football world is a farce. But remember that the sport is on par with religion in many parts of the Plains and Southeast. People gladly risk ill health to quench their Saturday thirst.
