Pac-12 non-conference football games - 82lsju - 11-19-2020

can happen to replace cancelled games if certain conditions are met

Quote:Pac-12 presidents and chancellors approved a reversal of their initial policy restricting teams to a conference-only schedule for the 2020 college football season on Wednesday. League athletic directors first agreed Tuesday on the move, which opened the door for schools to play nonconference games in the event of a cancellation due to COVID-19.

In order to gain approval to face a nonconference opponent, the school must adhere to Pac-12 testing and related protocols and play the game in the home stadium of the Pac-12 school. Also, if a Pac-12 opponent becomes available by Thursday of game week, the conference game must be played in lieu of the nonconference opponent.

BYU is the most likely, most available candidate.

And whoever gets their game cancelled because their opponent has COVID issues

BYU might put up 80.

It will be interesting to see if the Niners finish 6-10 or 5-11 or if they decide to trade up. Lawrence and Fields will be gone but they could pick Lance, Mac Jones or BYU’s Wilson. Will they retain Jimmy and take a flyer on a lower rated guy like Book. Next year Slovis and others may come out. The guy I like is Penix of Indiana. Versus Fields Saturday. Looks like the team will drop a few guys in the Tartt category, not good enough to overcome his salary in a year with a low cap.

A lot of truth there.

BTW, loved the line:  "I've never seen anything like it!"

As if that can't be applied across the board to college foot . ..  ERR . . . pretty much everything!
