What team has never had a season with more than 7 losses?

If true (and I don't doubt it, slide), one reason is that they only used to play 9 games during much of the Woody Hayes era. A lot fewer chances for that 7th loss.

true on the 9 game schedule. and I'm not sure if my answers are correct or not. I thought I heard the same question during a Tosu game.

I was curious about this so I checked the stats:

Some facts:
tOSU has had only 9 losing seasons total out of 109.
Their worst season was 2-6-1 in 1947.
The most recent losing season was 2011 when they went 6-7. That was the year after Jim Tressel was canned and they vacated all their wins. Luke Fickell coached for one year before Urban Meyer took over.
Before that, you have to go back to 1988 to find a losing season.
The only time tOSU has had back-to-back losing seasons was a 3-year stretch 1922-1924.
...and Phogge, here's a note you'd be interested in from a friend who studied film at tOSU:
I was there the end of the Woody Hayes era and the start of Earl Bruce. When I was there, the football team funded the Cinema department. We could use their equipment other than on football weekends. They had 11 Arriflex 16mm cameras and an unbelievable edit system. A few years after I left they switched to video cameras to record the games.

Back then the normal team video was a top guy at the 50 and an end zone camera. They shot what we call a top 22 (all the players before snap and perhaps a tiny zoom during the play). NFL Films still utilizes a top camera but the frame starts TE to Tackle on one side and 3 or 4 D linemen. You include the QB and the RB in a T or shotgun. Of course we have multiple cameras shooting different speeds. I am impressed that a college team would have 11 Arri's. Good for them to let other kids get experience with them.

I thought the question was about UDFG and tOSU's combined losses.

Yeah BC. I started on the ground for Films but went upstairs when the local guy passed away. I was well trained by my Hollywood dad and have been versatile throughout my 53 year career. I am impressed by the abundance of young talent in our industry. It has been a tough year for those kids.
