OK, what is taking CA so long here? - OutsiderFan - 11-30-2020

This is the best contact tracing solution I am aware of, anywhere. WA now using. CT too. CA is piloting on UC campuses.  When will it get to full public use in CA and what is the holdup?

To sum up, New Jersey only tried to reach 70% of cases (3% had no contact info, the rest I guess they didn't attempt to reach).  20% didn't take the call, so that leaves 50% of cases who they even managed to talk to.  But 70% refused to provide contacts.

If you do the math, contact tracing was only done in 14% of positive cases.

Should have been implemented in April.  From video, the only fly in ointment (assuming sufficient downloading of app) is entry of the notification code by those testing positive.  But hopefully, if folks have downloaded app, they're "all in" on doing this right.

More contract tracing data.

This one is from King County, Seattle's county. (thanks to OF, I went to investigate the app and came across this release from the King Count Public Health Department regarding their contract tracing results)

• 27,172 cases (72%) were linked to an outbreak, had a known close contact or had another most likely source of exposure designated. This includes: 
  o 6,961 cases (26%) linked to an outbreak 
  o 14,431 cases (53%) were not linked to an outbreak but had close contact with a known or suspected COVID-19 case 
  o 5,780 cases (21%) reported only one potential exposure setting during their exposure period. 
• 1,780 (5%) had 2 or more potential sources of exposure identified 
• 2,933 cases (8%) had no potential source of exposure identified 
• 5,597 cases (15%) were not able to be interviewed 

An additional 1,226 cases are pending interview at the time of this report.

I think that means only 15% were unreachable (not including the pending cases)?

In the release, they include both full period stats as well as last 60 days so you can get an idea of how things have changed.
