And a FG block.
Based on the thousands of hours of football I have watched over my lifetime, I'd say Cal's incompetence is much more what those blocks were about than Booker being some amazing place kick blocker.

FWIW, if it wasn't Booker, the two leaping players right behind him - Fehoko and Robinson - were absolutely in position to block the FG and XP too. The kicks were way too low, and Booker just got his hand on them first.
That said, Cal's kicker has made every other FG/XP attempt this season. It's not like they were getting blocked elsewhere.
@BC, I think I said Robinson had the FG block - as did the ESPN play by play. I re-watched and am pretty sure it was indeed Booker getting his hand on it first. Not that it really matters.

Not sure if anyone noticed but Obi Eboh was also nominated for defensive player of the week. Sure do miss him now.

We miss a player with 0 ints and 0 PBUs, who has allowed a completion every single time his man has been targeted this season? (Not an exaggeration...11/11 in 4 games.) I don't. The only reason he was nominated was because he had a sack on a CB blitz.
Salim Turner-Muhammad is playing quite well, and is 3 years younger. Would much rather he be getting the reps anyways.
Plus, remember Adebo was returning at the time Eboh entered the transfer portal. He wouldn't have started given what he knew nearly a year ago with Adebo/Kelly coming back, so him leaving made total sense.

WHo was it on the fumbled punt who beat the Cal player to the ball and kept it alive? Did not recover, but I thought the Cal player had it and our guy got in there fast. I thought #8 . . . maybe Peat?

Regardless of who got the block on the field goal attempt at the end of the first half, I think the formation was really interesting. (There is an Instagram photo posted by Stanford football where it looks like Booker's hand is going to block it first but the angle may be misleading.) Stanford's kick blocking team definitely loaded up the right side of Cal's offense on all their attempted kicks but on the two blocks, Stanford had 6 defenders rush in on two or three blockers. Stanford had four guys in four point stances set up in the A gap next to the center or right over the guard. Two defenders, (Robinson and Fehoko) are right behind the two rushers closest to the center. The four down rushers then push into the guard, tackle and extra blocker to either break through one of the gaps or move the wall close enough to the kicker for Robinson and Fehoko to use their jumping ability to block the kick. All 6 guys coordinated it really well and in the Instagram photo, all have their hands up at three heights to block the kick. For the extra point, Stanford really wedged in and pushed through two blockers leaving the center and extra blocker to push on the sides of our linemen at the defensive point of attack. I noticed the formation right away during the game and was kind of amazed at how well it was working and that Cal didn't do a better job of responding to it. Some brilliant coaching and execution by the good guys on the plays.

Per the photo Fisk with his eyes closed had no idea where the ball was. Jordan Spieth often looks at the hole and not the ball when putting from 2-5 feet. I tried it and abandoned it. Fisk... keep your eye on the ball!
