As I am not a Patriots fan I love the idea that Jake Bailey has been mentioned as one of the more valuable players on that team.

Interestingly, Ray Guy's best year was his first, where he averaged 45.3 yards per punt. That would put him tied for 31st this year.

Well, the story was that 49ers did look seriously at both Wishnowsky and Bailey and chose Wishnowsky, so it's not that silly. But Wishnowsky has been fine, so it wasn't a mistake to go with him. Just slightly disappointing for local Stanford fans.

Wishnowski's not doing too badly with the 49ers. While he's just #21 in yards per punt, he's #12 in net yards per punt and #9 in yards after punt reception among punters with more than 20 punts.
