WBB: OR 59 AZ 79 - martyup - 02-08-2021

Arizona leads 33-32 at the half.  These two teams look much better than UCONN and SCAR.

AZ is shooting 41%/42%
OR is shooting 41%/20%

AZ has 8 TOs and OR has 3.

Paopao has 3 fouls with 4 points, which doesn't bode well for the Ducks.

AZ is rolling the Ducks at the end of the 3rd, 60-46.  Reece is on fire with 23 points, going 3-3 from 3.

McDonald discombobulated the first half.  Doing better the second half.  Oregon has bigger, stronger players but Arizona is really scrappy, fights for every ball, and is probably a little quicker overall than Ducks.

AZ takes down the Ducks hard.

AZ shooting 51%/60%
OR shooting 32%/20%

Each team had 11 turnovers.

We'll play Oregon before Arizona. Luckily, the Ducks will play Cal first (if COVID doesn't postpone that game) and can take their frustrations out on the Bears before they play us.

Oregon held McDonald to 13 points on 4/16 shooting but they couldn't figure out a way to stop Reese, who had 25 points on a very efficient 11/14 shooting night including 3/3 from long range.

The Wildcats shot 60% (9/15) from 3-point range while the Ducks were held to 32% shooting. Sabally was 7/10 and Prince was 4/7, but Paopao was 4/16 herself and their freshman Parrish was 1/10. Mikesell was also ineffective from long range (0/3) and 2/9 overall.

Wow.
I'd've bet on Oregon.
And this suggests their weakness: they are slow: Boley, Mikesell, Sabally, Prince.  Parrish moves nicely but merely nicely.

No to UConn or SC as the best.  Shooting is a key skill.
