Winning this one is like step 0.5 towards making the Tourney. We're favored by 9.5.
Tipoff moved back to 8:15.

16 point lead now. Hopefully we don't stop playing defense in the second half. We held them to 22 in the first half. They already have 8 at the under 16 timeout.
21 point lead at the under 12 timeout. I hope we don't ease up and win this by double digits comfortably (15+).

18 point lead at the under 8 timeout. Eskimo dogs on a 8-0 run.
18 point lead at the under 4 timeout (less than 2 minutes to go). Eskimo Dogs have gotten it as close as 14 points, but the win is all but sealed.
An 18 point win. Good to see that we did not completely take the foot off the pedal.

I think this was a really nice win. It helps a lot to have our most talented players available so the newer players can be worked into the game and not have to carry the game. Our defense really caused Washington problems and their defense was not cohesive enough to deal with all of our back door cuts and clear outs of one side of the lane. Made for a lot of layups for our guys. I was worried about this game because it was on the road and when we played them earlier this season it seemed like Washington had some talent but hadn't yet figured out how to effectively utilize it. We seem to have progressed more this season than Washington. Really happy with the team's effort and performance. On to WSU!

Agreed. Getting all three of the once-starters back into the flow of the game was the best news for this fan. This team has missed that kind of depth, experience, and athleticism. Good to see Wills get some confidence back, even as he struggled at times again. (Hope he works on his FTs between now and the P12 tourney.) Love seeing Daejon on the floor again. He's already in tune with O'Connell when they're on together.
UW is in a tailspin, so I won't get too excited about the blowout, more the team chemistry on display. At WSU tomorrow a much tougher task. I won't expect the same kind of blowout. Pulling out the win and continuing to grow team chemistry would be plenty for this fan.

Agree with everyone above that this was a very solid win. My only complaint (I always have a complaint--if we win the NCAA championship by 30 points, I will find something we could have done better) is that we forced some very difficult passes that resulted in turnovers. I like the aggressive offense, but maybe we could dial it back to 8 or 9 instead of 10.
With everyone healthy, the defense has been fantastic the last couple of games. No complaints there.
WSU will be tougher. They just beat Cal by 30 without their best player, Bonton.

They Likely Pac-12 Most Improved Player award winner Noah Williams, who we shut down in our first meeting, just beat Cal by 30.

This was a REALLY solid win. Slow start but midway through the first half the defense started to assert itself and the lead built steadily. Mostly cruise control in the second half.
Job well done. Gotta go take the Cougs to the same woodshed tomorrow. Bigger tests ahead with Oregon & U$C, and will likely need to make at least the semis at the Pac-12 tournament.

Besides turnovers, Stanford is still highly inadequate at 3-point FG. Jones is at 37.2%, Delaire at 34.4%, Williams at 31.1%, Da Silva at 30.2%. On the other hand, Begovich at 100% but he only has 1 attempt. Overall the team is at 31.1% or 288th nationally out of 340 teams.
Free throws are OK overall, 72.3% or 115th nationally, except for regulars Jones at 65.5%, Kisunas at 38.5% and Wills at a miserable 34.9%.

Jones may be regaining some confidence on this front. They're clearly trying to establish more of an inside presence, but they'll need a higher 3-point avg. against teams that can better defend inside the paint. Davis will help there some, but mainly hoping Jones has a few more nights like his recent Utah performance.

Thanks, AlbanyCardinal, I didn't make my point clear re: 3-pt field goal percentage. Jones and Delaire, and maybe Williams, are the only ones shooting at a decent percentage. The top 3-pt shooting team by percentage is Baylor at 43.9%. That's as a team!
Since there are 340 D1 teams the median 3-pt shooting percentage is the average of the 170th and 171st ranked teams. That would be Kent State and Arkansas, who both check in at 33.9%. So only Jones and Delaire shoot above average for a median 3-pt shooting team.
As you note, this will be an issue for a team that is able to shut down our inside game via zone or other means.

Definitely a problem for this team. This might not see much improvement till Silva and Moss get onboard. Both can catch and shoot from beyond the arc. For now, here's hoping Jones keeps hitting them in the meantime.

Moss can shoot the lights out. But, I wasn't aware that Silva had good three-point shot.
