Since you started this match thread before I saw it, I'll copy and paste my comment from the other beach thread.
Stanford is currently playing #2 UCLA on livestream. Stanford #4 team won the first set. Stanford #2 team lost a very close set 22-24. If Stanford hadn't made about six serving errors they would have won the set.
Stanford #2 team is Xolani Hodel (don't ask me to pronounce the first name) and Kate Reilly. Both are freshmen and very good. Hodel is a beast at the net. With a set close to the net and a poorly positioned blocker she can bounce the ball. First Stanford beach player I've seen with that kind of power.
IMO Hodel has the most upside of any player on the Stanford team. The Cardinal probably won't win this one but they are actually way better than I anticipated.

Team #2 Hodel and Reilly win second set. It goes to a third and deciding set.
Hodel can set and pass. She is a complete player. Let the indoor team borrow her for awhile.
The commentators are complete shills for the UCLA team. Doesn't bother me. I don't expect world class commentating on a livestream.

Sorry, I was posting on the wrong thread.
Unbelievable loss on #2. We had two match points. On the second, Hodel got a perfect set and pounded a shot that was brilliantly dug by Newberry. UCLA went on to win 16-14. Tough loss.
Contests #1, 3, and 5 should be starting momentarily.
There are 3 live feeds numbered 4, 5, and 6. Can anyone tell which matches are on each feed? I heard that the #1s are on feed 4.
Our #1 team is Ekstrom and Villapando.
Wow. After taking a 4-2 lead, our #1s are getting bombed.
We're losing on all 3 courts right now.
Dropped #1. We are close on #3 and #5.
Dropped #5 and won #3. Second sets underway.

Just got back from a lunch engagement. I see Stanford mixed up the #1 and #2 team players. Hodel replaces Ekstrom in the #1 spot. For the long term it should be a good decision and probably a no-brainer after Ekstrom/Villapando got destroyed the first match.
Hodel and Villapando are not doing so well in the first set. It takes time to get in sync with a new partner.
Hodel/Villapando lose first set 18-21. The match could go UCLA's way 5-0 although Stanford is not that far behind them in talent.
