Awesome. Thanks for posting

I think they actually got all of it right.  Shocking.  All well deserved.  Particularly pleased about Lacie.

RE: WBB Pac-12 Awards - BillBradley - 03-01-2021

Brink had a great P12 season and IMO should have been all-league. All-frosh is a great accomplishment, but it doesn't reflect her performance nor her value to the #1 team in the league. She's a way better big than Sabally and Reese. Not even close.

RE: WBB Pac-12 Awards - WBB fan - 03-01-2021

Definitely all well deserved -- every bit of it.  Really glad that Tara got COY -- getting the team though the never-ending road trip was a brobdingnagian accomplishment and I think this award recognizes that, as well as the team's record in general.

Had Brink and Belibi not split games, the other would have won 6POY. I think any of Lacie, Hannah, or Ashten could've won it, but I'm very happy for Lexie.

Yes, I think this is right.  I did wonder if Brink could have gotten a higher award, but the fact that she did not start until the 2nd half and has limited minutes, partly because of so much foul trouble, probably prevented that.  And I am sure the deciders know she will be cleaning up the awards for several more years.

Lexie has been a bit under the radar for us this year.  Her three point shooting and ppg are down a little bit from last year--probably because the team has not had to rely on her so much now that there is more consistent surrounding talent.  I think her defense is better.  But with Jones and Williams and Brink getting a lot of attention Lexie's consistent contributions should not be overlooked, and it is clear that the deciders did not.

I don't see the wisdom of giving the Player of the Year another award in co-DPOY, especially given the accomplishments of Anna Wilson.  It is as if you crown a King and then given him half of a Duchy.

Have you seen Prince Andrew's full title?

Quote:Prince Andrew's current full style is His Royal Highness The Prince Andrew Albert Christian Edward, Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh, Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, Personal Aide-de-Camp to The Queen.

Just saying.

Yes, but all of those noble titles fall away once you are crowned King.  At that point, other nobles are awarded the titles from which you ascended.  :•]

RE: WBB Pac-12 Awards - BostonCard - 03-02-2021

Evidently they don't fall away when crowned empress.  Catherine the Great's full title:

Quote:We, Catherine the second, by the Grace of God, Empress and Autocrat of all the Russians at Moscow, Kiev, Vladimir, Novgorod, Czarina of Kasan, Czarina of Astrachan, Czarina of Siberia, Lady of Pleskow and Grand Duchess of Smolensko, Duchess of Estonia and Livland, Carelial, Tver, Yugoria, Permia, Viatka and Bulgaria and others; Lady and Grand Duchess of Novgorod in the Netherland of Chernigov, Resan, Rostov, Yaroslav, Beloosrial, Udoria, Obdoria, Condinia, and Ruler of the entire North region and Lady of the Yurish, of the Cartalinian and Grusinian czars and the Cabardinian land, of the Cherkessian and Gorsian princes and the lady of the manor and sovereign of many others[162]

Under this year's criteria, Candice Wiggins is owed a 2005 Freshman of the Year Award.
