The women's swimming national championship starts today. Stanford is the 3 time defending champ. But the team is missing a number of top swimmers who are sitting out this year to train for the Olympics. There is really only one swimmer likely to contend for the podium in any races, senior Brooke Forde who has the top qualifying time in the 400IM. Stanford is currently ranked 10th. The title should be a tight race among Virginia, Cal, Texas and NC State.

congratulations to Brooke Forde, the NCAA 400IM champion!
With one day remaining, Stanford is in 7th place. Virginia is running away with the title, up by nearly 100 points on NC State.

Is there a Learfield College Director's Cup this year? If there is Stanford will be way down the list.

The final day of the meet will be on
ESPN3 at 3PM. Unfortunately, it appears the only points today will be from 2 swimmers in the 200 BR B-finals, plus one seeded 8th in the 1650, plus 400 FR relay seeded 16. Plus we've got two divers that are about 8th after 2 rounds of 5 in the platform diving. (In the 3rd round, Mia Paulsen didn't hold her handstand dive and got 4.0 so she's going drop quite a bit.
