Thanks for the info, at least we have a chance of watching her for 3 more years.

Once again, Brink will be the face of USA basketball in 3-4 years. She's has guard skills, shoots the 3, runs like a deer, is a blocking machine, and a post scoring machine. Plus, she's electric and the camera loves her.

Provided that as she matures she reduces her fouls, and provided that we develop the guards to keep turnovers down and feed her the ball, and provided she stays injury-free...
...then I think it realistic to expect another natty at some point over her remaining career.  She can be that good.

I think the next step for Brink is to become a go-to scorer.  We saw that from Haley Jones in the NCAA tournament.  Against very good defenses that were denying open shots from our motion, Jones was able to get the ball and create her own offense with the shot clock winding down.  We need more players who can do that and I'm hoping Brink takes that next step next season.

Unfortunately, she also averages about 6 fouls per 40 minutes and will have to improve on that to have an impact.

She made a lot of progress during the season, which was after all her first. In her first game against USC, for example, her rate was 20 fouls per 40 minutes, but in the next two games against them she got it down to 6 per 40 minutes. I hope she will show the usual big freshman-to-sophomore jump in level of play.

And, fortunately, she will.

Her physical fitness (specifically strength, balance and vertical jump) are what I'm watching. She gets knocked around a lot and falls down often. She could definitely finish through contact better. Some of her fouls were balance related. Even though she jumps better than most players her size, she could add 4+ inches to her vertical. It looks to me like her body is still developing. There could be another level of athlete in there. Scary.

It's a tall order (yuk), but if she puts in the work I could see her packing it down in games over the next few years. Pretty sure she can dunk right now in practice.
