Oregon or Washington? - cardcrimson - 05-06-2021

"Oregon or Washington: Which Team will win the Pac-12 North in 2021" is the headline. Article canvasses several pundits on that burning question. Only one mention of Stanford:

"The toughest road game on Washington's conference slate is probably Stanford or Colorado, both of which arguably overachieved in 2020 and could take a step back this year."

At least we're considered a tough road game. Must be the h u g e crowds. . . .

I think it's fair to say that Stanford DID overachieve last year (go back and review the game videos and the nail-biter wins) and that it WILL "regress" this season. A .500 season, given the roster, would be something to cheer. Hey, guys, this is nowhere close to the juggernaut(s) of yesteryear.

Yes, but also, our QB did get hit with a bogus COVID test result, and while I don't think that even with Mills we could have beaten Oregon, I do think we might have beaten Colorado had he been able to practice.  Add to that the fact that our game against a dumpster fire of a team (WSU) was cancelled, and we were not that far off from a 6-1 regular season (or, at least, about as close to that as to a 1-5 season).

Or perhaps because Washington hasn't won in Palo Alto since 2007.
