I agree. And I don't understand her motivation. she left a great job at Cal, which did seem a good fit, to go to the NBA. I've got to wonder if her experience in the NBA was not what she thought it would be, and was eager to get out and took this opportunity as her acceptable exit.

Seems to have recruited well when at Cal, will be interesting to see how recruiting goes at usc. Wonder what level of interest there was in the usc opening by the coaching community.

Cal played this season with no Jrs and no Srs. She stopped recruiting

Gottlieb seems like a nice person, the sort I want to root for, but I don't really think she is such a great coach. She did reach that one F4 but overall I I felt her teams often underperformed their talent level, and as noted above in this thread, toward the end recruiting and results fell way off. Cal is in total rebuild mode now because of issues that occurred in her tenure there. USC seems to be all in on her with a 6 year contract. Maybe she has learned a lot during her time with Cleveland?

Her tenure in Cleveland looked to be working out really well for her, except (I would guess) the pay cut she would've had to endure in taking the job.
So the Trojans have thrown a ton of money at her for salaries and the program. It should be...interesting.

My impression of Gottlieb was that she wanted to be her players' friend. Not a good strategy in my estimation, but we will soon see.
