Unfortunately, this is another chance for UNC to grab a title.  They're the top seed.

There are 74 Division I men's lacrosse teams and 119 women's teams.

Men: 16/74 = 21.6%
Women: 29/119 = 24.4%

So the women's side is a little bit more inclusive.

Also, as someone whose main exposure to the men's tourney is an Ivy League team (Cornell), surprising to see no Ivies on the women's side.  Very different ballgame, so to speak.

Denver up 14-12.  Not looking good.
Seems like there is an infinity of timeouts allowed.
14-13.  Two minutes left.

Down 1 with 2 minutes to play. Stanford pulling its goalie pays off.
We fall for the first time this season, 13-15.  Denver moves on to take on undefeated Northwestern.  

Still, a conference championship for the Cardinal, which is reason to celebrate a good year.  

I've got to think one reason this team can look forward to future seasons while a sport like field hockey cannot is the availability of more lacrosse teams on the west coast.

Two more semifinal losses for UNC, this time in each lacrosse tournament. Still a ton of Directors' Cup points for them, but they won't be threatening for most NCAA titles this year.
