Davis Mills - Mick - 05-16-2021

The Texans seem to like their 3rd round selection, Davis Mills.  Pro-style QB, good experience, sharp, smart.  Do they have another Andrew Luck?  Maybe, maybe not.  But DeShaun Watson has likely played his last game in a Texans uniform, Tyrod Taylor is the current starter but he's on a one-year contract and Ryan Finley is the other QB.  Here's hoping that Mills joins Elway, Plunkett, Brodie, Luck and many other superb NFL quarterbacks from Stanford.

And Mills is actually pretty fast, relatively speaking:

Prisco and Quinn think he's the steal of the draft:

thanks for posting. sounds promising for davis!

doesn't the list leave out justin fields and trey lance, though - maybe because they didn't run official 40's at their pro days? supposedly fields runs in the 4.4's and lance in the 4.5's

The three picks against UCLA should add some caution to the forecast. He will need some time and with the Texans time learning while watching is best.

Agreed, his three picks against UCLA were horrid.

But those were his only interceptions of the season. And he bounced back after the three picks to lead four straight TD drives in Q4 and OT, including three TD passes. That showed something.

Threw one in Big Game. (It was a long bomb so basically a punt, but still.)

No, the interception in the Big Game was negated by a defensive penalty. It didn't count.

Well, he threw 2 in Big Game 2019 (two series in a row), none in 2020.

The second one in 2019 was from the cal 40 to the cal 1 - apparently what you remember. But, it was on first down so a VERY Wlat kind of punt.
