RE: Stanford Baseball - CTcard - 05-31-2021

Notes on the field:

Stanford as the overall #9 seed.
Seeded to play at Texas Tech in a superregional should they get that far.

#7 Mississippi State finished up by going 0-2 at the SEC tournament, 1-13 to Florida, 2-12 to Tennessee
#8 Texas Tech finished up by going W,L,L at the Big 12 tournament, losses 2-7 to TCU, 2-7 to Kansas State
Pitt was named one of 20 possible regional hosts then did not make the tournament after going 1-8 over final 9 games, 3-9 after a COVID pause.

Pac 12 = Arizona overall 5 seed, Stanford overall 9 seed, Oregon overall 14 seed, OSU 2 seed in #6 TCU regional, UCLA 2 seed in #8 Texas Tech regional, ASU 2 seed to #2 Texas.

Stanford regional:
UC Irvine - Big West champs at 40-16, 32-8. RPI #31. lost 3 of 4 at Stanford early on.
Nevada - MWC Champ. 25-18. 22-9. RPI #37
North Dakota State. Summit Conf Tournament champs (2nd regular season). 41-17. 20-11. RPI #96

I find Fairfield's case interesting.
37-3. RPI #2. Played no one outside the MAAC. Lost in the conference tournament. Third seed in the Texas regional, playing ASU.
