Stanford med's Veronica Toro Arana is first Puerto Rican woman Olympic rower - fullmetal - 06-09-2021

Veronica Toro Arana (MIT '16) learned to row with the MIT lightweight women's crew, almost qualified for Rio (missed by one spot) while she was a MIT senior and applying to medical school, and is now the first Puerto Rican woman to qualify for the Olympics in rowing.  She is currently a Stanford medical school student, probably on leave while training...

Toro Arana qualified for the Tokyo Games by finishing 5th at the Americas Qualification Regatta held in March 2021.  She finished 20th in the US Olympic Trials regatta held the previous month.
