Yet Berty had 2 key late kills.
A big win for confidence and pride

Big win to go with the upset of Florida, balanced by the losses to Texas and Minnesota.  We know this team can be good...let's see them grow over the season and peak in the tourney.

It's worth noting that Utah stunned #3 Nebraska on their home court in five last night. This ought to be a very....motivated Nebraska team after that upset.

yeah, after winning the first two sets, Nebraska had two match points in the third and couldn't convert either one. As a result they were dragged into very close fourth and fifth sets and lost. That's gotta hurt!

Although BERTY has had her brilliant moments, I still cringe every time she is set.  And the longer it drags on with her as the primary option at OH2, the more unsteady Stanford's offense will be in those rotations since the defense can anticipate backrow sets to either KIPP or BAIRD.  Nebraska and Kentucky, both out for blood after losses last week, will definitely exploit this relative Stanford weakness this week.

We may get some reinforcements by the Nebraska match.

Enjoyed your comment Joe. Please post again.

When Berty and Miner are in the front row, it's a big problem.  I'm sure Hambly knows it.  The fact that he subbed in Tufuga (I believe she was outside the top 150 prep ranking) for Berty at a crucial point in the PSU match indicates he knows there's a need for a better solution in that rotation.

However I'm really glad Malia Tufuga got the opportunity.  It should help her confidence as a valued member of the team. Kudos to Hambly

Edit: Corrected spelling of Tufuga. I almost always check the spelling of player's names before posting if I have any doubts. This time I was in hurry to get out the door for lunch. Thanks for the heads-up CompSci.

Great to hear Jamesy. Appreciate

RE: WVB: Stanford beats Penn State - CompSci87 - 09-13-2021

It's Tufuga, even though the TV commentator's way of pronouncing it sounded like Tufunga.

Sorry, I'm a big spelling nitpicker, especially with people's names.
