Week 5 other games -
BostonCard - 10-02-2021
Wisconsin just punted on fourth and five from the Michigan 40… that seems like something we would criticize Shaw for. Lucky for the Badgers, the punt was downed on the one.
This after Harbaugh went for it twice on fourth and one in his own territory (right call). However, he failed to convert the second on a “predictable” play.

Wisconsin/Michigan... looks like Stanford got the wrong Herbig. Also probably got the wrong Hinton.

Not really Wisconsin’s day. They force michigan to punt from their 48 after a delay of game (yes, other teams have dogs too) on fourth and 3 from the Wisconsin 43, and fumble the return. Wisconsin has three yards of total offense in three possessions.
Is this the year Harbaugh breaks through?

Harballs looks fit. He has a very good defense. Hinton and Herbig might be two of the best three on Stanford’s defense but noooooooooooooooo.....

Oof, Michigan gives up a 3-play, 63 yard touchdown drive with 20 seconds left. This is why Michigan fans can’t have nice things.
BC
Also worth noting that at the half, Arkansas has been shut out, has three first downs, and 78 total yards, so maybe Vanderbilt’s 77 yards over the whole game were a reflection of Georgia’s D.

Cincinnati up 17-0 on the Domers.
BC
By the way, the same Arkansas team that scored 40 points on Texas, was blanked by Georgia and got 162 total yards. So maybe Vandy's futility just reflects the fact that Georgia has a good defense.

And to think that JT Daniels was USC's starting QB, and lost it to Slovis. Bwahahahaha.

Notre Dame about to go down.

UDFG falls to the Bearcats, 24-13.

What has happened to Cal? I thought Wilcox was supposed to be "the guy". Instead, the BEars are losing 21-6 to 1-3 Washington State.
BC
LOL, Cal commits an "illegal forward pass" penalty.

Congrats to Mike Leech, whose MSU team just beat Texas A&M.

The end of the Vandy/UConn game was pretty entertaining for two teams that were a combined 1-8. Vandy won it on a last second field goal, but both teams were pretty atrocious.

Vanderbilt, worst 2-3 team in the country. (UConn, just the worst.)

Oregon State beats UW in Corvalls, now all alone atop Pac-12 North.
OSU looks like they will be a contender for the division/conference title.

OSU Beavs just beat the Huskies 27-24 with a field goal as time runs out. They are now at the top of the heap in the Pac 12 North. (Typing this as d4cohn was posting.)
At the Rose Bowl, ASU holding a 1 point lead against UCLA, 24-23 at halftime (was 24-20 with 4 seconds left but the punt returner for ASU muffed and UCLA was able to kick a field goal). Rooting for the Sun Devils to prevail.

ASU takes down UCLA soundly. One of ASU's starting DBs got a targeting penalty in the 2nd half, so he will have to sit out the first half of our game.

Perhaps a little early to be talking about our game with ASU, but this one smacks of the 2016 game against Washington. A short week game on the road with a tough team after an exhausting victory.
Hopefully the result is considerably different.

One difference is that we have an early home game before the short week. In 2016, we had a late road game followed by the short week road game. Conversely, asu got the late road game before the short week but at least they're at home Friday.

I just watched a clip on College Football Final of Brian Kelly talking to his team in the locker room at halftime. The Irish went scoreless in the first half, down 17-0 to Cincy. Here is BK's motivational words:
Quote:You are evaluated for every snap you play in this second half wearing a ND jersey. And you're gonna play it the right way or you're not gonna play. Period, end of discussion.
I remember after beating Florida State in a close game he joked about executing his players. I continue to hold a low opinion of this man.
BTW, ND went on to lose to Cincy. I wonder whether he will be able to field a team for their next game with all the players who are "not going to play."

A&M's backup QB is atrocious. He put up 10 points on Colorado. (Colorado is very, very bad this season.)

Yes, but the A&M defense is still one of the best in the country.
