In their 3 PAC 12 home matches, UW lost to Utah 2-3, then won over UCLA 3-2 and USC 3-1.
Since Utah was able to beat UW @ UW, I definitely think that Stanford can also beat UW @ UW.
So I'll be greedy and go with Stanford in 5 sets (with some wishful thinking incorporated in it).

Wisconsin takes the secon 32-30; Penn State takes the third 25-20, and Wisconsin is up in the fourth 18-12. If it holds, it will be another five setter be.tween two ranked teams.

Must have been a fantastic match, although Stanford's RPI would have greatly benefited had PSU won instead. Looking at the stats, both teams were led by their respective star MB, with RETTKE hitting 24-2-43 for .512 and HORD hitting 21-2-40 for .475.
At the halfway mark of Big 10 competition, Nebraska is in sole possession of 1st place with 10-0, although only two of those wins vs. ranked teams, @#13 Penn State and vs. #7 Purdue. Yesterday's win vs #7 Purdue will benefit Stanford's RPI.
Meanwhile, Penn State is sitting at 3rd place with 7-3, of which 2-3 vs. ranked teams, winning vs. #3 Ohio State and at #12 Minnesota, while losing vs. #10 Nebraska, at #6 Purdue and at #3 Wisconsin.

I didn't expect a straight set loss to UW, but that's OK.
Based on my prognostication last week, Stanford is where I predicted them to be, splitting their WA state road trip and ending the 1st half of PAC 12 play at 7-3 and 12-6 overall.
Now that they've played all their PAC 12 nemeses except for USC, it's time to fine tune their game, have a collective sense of urgency and killer instinct, as they approach what I consider to be the more favorable half of their PAC 12 schedule, as they:
- host the OR and WA schools (which include 3 ranked teams in #10 UW, #16 Oregon and #22 WSU),
- go on the road at the AZ schools, the Mountain schools, USC and Cal (which only includes one ranked team in #18 Utah).
Realistically, I can see them go 9-1 or even 10-0, with UW as the most likely stumbing block to a perfect PAC 12 2nd half of action. Do that, and they end PAC 12 competition at either 16-4 or 17-3 (and 21-7 or 20-8 overall), which should be good enough for a tie for 1st or 2nd place, and most likely an NCAA tournament seeding which means they get to play the 1st and 2nd Round at Maples, which is what we all want.

Pass better would lead to better sets which leads to kills. A must if 9-1

I was suprised Baird got so many sets (as many as Kipp and Francis combined
), especially after being sick

Minnesota upset Ohio State, so that helps us a little.

Realistically, I can see them go 9-1 or even 10-0.
That would be fantastic. I can't envision it. This team is too mistake prone. I see them tripping up and losing to teams one would expect them to beat. I would be happy if they go 7-3.
My dream is they get hot in the tournament and upset a team or two.
