Week 8 other games - BostonCard - 10-23-2021
Kansas is leading Oklahoma 10-0 at halftime. Oklahoma somehow only has 78 total yards… against Kansas. I don’t think this continues into the second half, but still.
Northwestern just scored to cut it to a 10-7 Michigan lead.
Navy and Cincinnati are tied at 10.

Navy must have gotten their act together.
They were pretty bad at the beginning of the season.

Undefeated Harbaugh is only leading 10-7 on FOX Big Noon Saturday.
Northwestern has generated virtually no offense, except for a 75 yard TD run on the first play after Michigan settled for a FG ffrom the 2 yard line to take a 10-0 lead.
ESPN College Game Day came to the PAC-12 for the first time this season. Fowler and Herbstreit are calling the Oregon-UCLA game at the Rose Bowl.

This is Hilinski’s 4th start for NU. NU started the season with Hunter Johnson at QB. Johnson is another transfer from South Carolina (Clemson).
No games between ranked teams this week.
Of the 5 ranked teams playing early games, none is currently ahead by more than a TD.
At the half, Northwestern has 3 First downs and 38 yards offense, excluding the 75 yard TD run. 7 minutes of possession in the half.

Michigan has played a cupcake schedule to this point. That ends after Northwestern. They have Mich St, Penn St and OSU coming up. Let’s see if Jimbo can actually win a big game or two at Michigan.

There is a great game that just went into the 4th Q. Wake Forest 49 - Army 42. CBS Sports Network.
WF is 6-0 on the season. It's now 56-42.

Carl Richardson (remember him?) came in for Hilinski in the 4th Quarter and fumbled the snap back to Michigan in his first series.

Penn State and Illinois are tied at 10 in the fourth quarter.
Oklahoma went up 28-17, then Kansas brought it to 28-23. They stopped Oklahoma on third and one, but the Sooners converted on fourth and short around midfield.

Actually, Kansas stopped Oklahoma on fourth down, but the RB (whose momentum had stopped and was being driven further back behind the LOS) handed the ball forward to the QB (that's okay if handoff is behind LOS) who took it for the first down. That was, by far, the play of the game. OU then ran the ball down KU's throat for a final, meaningless TD with 20 seconds left.

And Army scores, making it 70-56. The two teams have combined for 53 first downs and 1,234 yards. Wake scored a touchdown on every drive but one where they failed to convert on fourth down. Army scored a touchdown on every drive but two: they punted once and threw a pick six on another.
