Adelaide is a great place to spend the Northern winter. The best Shiraz/Syrah in the world comes from the Barossa, IMO.

Maybe, but if you are going to be playing abroad, there probably isn't a more familiar place in the world for an American outside of Canada.  Slide can probably comment, but I think it would be much more challenging to play in a Euro league where there are language and cultural issues over an Australian league.

Why do you say that? I lived down under for 3+ years and the only hard part was learning to drive on the other side. The people are welcoming, the culture is very, very sports oriented (or as they would say, orientated), the wine is divine, and it's almost always tomorrow there. There are unresolved racial issues regarding the Aborigines, so maybe that is what is on your mind.

yes, in my visits, australia felt very similar to the u.s. - more so than england.

Marge needs to ask for a flat white or a short black if she wants coffee. Heaven forbid that she asks for a Foster's if she wants a beer - only the American tourists would drink that, and most local pubs wouldn't have any.
