men's gymnastics #1 recruiting class - 82lsju - 11-13-2021

Quote:1.Stanford

In the past few years, Stanford has seemed to nail down the perfect recipe for attracting and developing world-class talent, the likes of which include Brody Malone, Brandon Briones and Riley Loos.  To add to their growing track record, the Cardinal landed the top-ranked recruit, Asher Hong, for the 2023 season.  Hong has a long history of success as a multi-time USA National Team member and is now looking like a possible candidate for the 2024 Olympics.  His difficulty packed gymnastics, including a Kaz 2.5 on vault, will add a new level of competitiveness to the already stacked Stanford roster.   The Cardinal was also able to land four-and-a-half star recruit Arun Chhetri, along with Kaien Orion and Marcus Kushner, all of whom’s strong club careers have set them up for a nice transition to The Farm.

That's 3 or 4 years in a row with the number 1 class. In fact, this is Stanford's weakest class over the past 3 years. That being said, Asher Hong is by far the top talent in the class. Stanford should be dominant this year. Anything other than an NCAA Championship would be a massive disappointment.

They just keep reloading which is amazing.  Hong should be a serious Olympic contender in 2024. Arun Chhetri is a strong recruit.  I can’t see this team being dethroned for awhile. The injury bug that has affected many other Stanford teams needs to stay far far away.

Could Brody come back for a 5th year if he wants to?
