Some provocative thoughts toward the conclusion of this video. Draw your own conclusions as to the locker-room culture of a team and its implications on game-day -- specifically what it takes to win besides physical talent. If you think that toughness and tenacity are descriptors of Stanford in 2021, you might as well skip this. If you're questioning it the way I am today, take a look and decide:

Ok. What’s your point? Do you think the problem Stanford has is that they have a ton of talent but lack toughness? If only that were the case…. Nice video. Great to see a football coach go off. Never seen that before. So, I repeat, what’s your point?

Augie’s first head job was at SFSU just after I graduated. The program went from an ex twice Little All American fullback who thought hitting nine irons at batting practice was much more important than doing his job to a tough guy with tons of knowledge.
I know Stanford guys hated him but until he passed he kept in touch with many of his ex-Gators. Bet the Stanford guys don’t know that.
