I see that we are in the top ten in several rankings. I’d love to start talking baseball.

Interesting that we're ranked so high. I'm bullish on the offense, even with the loss of three from our starting lineup. However, we have a lot to prove on the pitching front. Alex Williams is an All-American candidate (boy was he a stud late last year), but I don't believe there's really another pitcher who is bordering on stardom. Quinn Mathews is solid but has a ways to go before becoming a star. And, we had four freshmen last year who showed promise, but have even more to prove.
All that said, if the young pitchers develop over the course of the season, Stanford could have one of the top teams in the country before the playoffs begin. My two cents.

Hitting Coach Tommy Nickerson was naned the Head Coach at UC Davis He was replaced by Steve Rodriquez the former volunteer coach. Rodriquez has been on the staff now three years. He played minor league baseball for 6 years and and was the starting catcher at UCLA for three years

My first question for this upcoming season is regarding the offense approach that Stanford will try to play, will it be "small ball" or "long ball"?
My second question is the pitching/defense, will Stanford try to get ground outs or strike outs?

Two catchers for this season
Kody Huff was great the second half of the season while Vincent Martinez faded after being solid the first Half.
At SS Adam Crampton returns and at 3B Drew Bowser is back. Extremely solid on the left side both defense and offense. Two top players
